While the Hebrews are in the midst of their crossing, distant lightening illuminates the sea behind the wall of water, and the silhouette of a huge shark appears, almost as if in an aquarium [1:28; one hour and twenty-eight minutes into the film]. DreamWork's Jeffrey Katzenberg mentioned in an interview that this was a favorite scene in the picture, and discussed its evolution in The Daily Herald.Though the article does not relate which book Katzenberg saw, it is clear that he was reading words based on a story from Midrash Rabbah.
