Guardian Shadow

Janus Zeru is the 10 year old crown prince of Zeru.  He's very introverted, and has lots of trouble making friends.  In the Kingdom of Zeru his only friend was his half sister, Shaela, and his feline mentor, Alfador.  His mother is Queen Jena Zeru, and his father is General Sierex Esaddii.  He hates his mother's advisor, Dalton St'Warron, and spent a lot of time making his life miserable.  He is very gifted in magic, but very weak physically.  He's sickly, frail, and small for his age.

Janus seemed fairly ordinary until the day he turned ten, and a black triangle appeared on his forehead.  He was soon contacted by the Goddess of Life, Brigitte.  She told him that the mark meant he was one of the guardians of the elements, one of her mystic warriors.  He was born so that he could battled the Dark Sprite Empire, and stop it from overtaking his planet.  He was a Mystic Guardian, one of the most powerful warriors in the entire world.  She gave him the Shadow Transformation Clip so that he could unlock the power sealed within him, and sent him off to find the other Guardians.

Janus is the most important person in all of Kwancha, his home world.  He is the leader of the Mystic Guardians, but has to co-lead with his sister for awhile.  He is also the semi-god of the element of Shadow.  It's later discovered that he is Neo Prince Infinity, the spirit child of Prince Infinity who kept the dark side of the world in balance.  Since he is a spirit child, he bears all the memories of his spirit parent.  This makes him very wise, though he doesn't always use his wisdom.

Janus is the second Guardian Shadow in recorded history.  The first one was also a member of his family line.  This other Guardian Shadow was very mature, skilled, and brave.  He was a model Guardian, and the perfect leader.  Brigitte is very shocked to discover that Janus is to take over his position, since he's so young and undisciplined.  She doesn't think he's ready to be a Guardian, and doubts that he's capable of leading the Mystic Guardians to victory against such a powerful enemy.  Janus is aware of how she feels towards him, so he ends up doubting his own abilities sometimes.  Janus usually has too powerful of a will to be controlled, but when he gets depressed from self doubt he becomes vulnerable.  It was for this reason, and also his Shadow sprite blood, that he was able to be turned evil by Admetus, 2nd in command of the Dark Sprites.  When Janus is evil he is known as "Dark Guardian" and his mission is to kill the Mystic Guardians.

Janus is also very important in the future.  He is the father of Shila, and Seluna, who are also Mystic Guardians.  He also has a son named Charon, who is one of the most power beings to ever live, but he rarely uses that power.  Janus becomes Eternal in the future, which means he doesn't age, and can only die from an attack.  In the far future he rules the Kingdom of Neo-Continuity alongside his sister Shaela.
