Guardian Spirit

Charon Zeru is a mysterious 7 year old boy who appeared at the Temple of Brigitte in the third story.  He was very friendly, and seemed very happy to be around the Guardians, even though they didn't know who he was.  He is nice to basically everyone in the Mystic Guardians, but he likes Janus and Lebauer best.  The reason for this is that he's Janus and Lebauer's son from the future.  No one suspects that he is, but since  he does resemble Lebauer and calls himself Charon Suruchi everyone assumes he's related to Lebauer.  He gets called her brother, cousin and nephew, but when people ask him which he is he just smiles at them and says it's a secret.  Like Janus he's got powerful Shadow magic, but is very weak physically.  His magic isn't as strong as his father's, but his spirit is.

Charon was sent by the Lady of Time, Seluna, to the past when she sensed that there was a new threat to the Time Stream.  When he first appears he doesn't tell anyone why he's there or anything more than his name.  He carries with him a Mystic Guardian Clip, but even after he transforms Brigitte says that there is no Guardian Spirit.  He really isn't a true Guardian, but he plays that role so that he can complete he true purpose for being in the past.  Seluna had told him that the battle the Mystic Guardians were about to face would be the most horrific of any they will ever see.  He was sent to keep Janus's hopes up, and to give him the will to defeat Serphinese, even after he lost everything.

Charon is the only ally Janus still has by the end of Mystic Guardians Divine.  Even though he's hurt, and doesn't go with Janus to fight Serphinese Janus would have never succeeded without him.  It was his prayers which activiated the Messiah Eclipse Amulet that Seluna gave Janus.  It's the power of that Token which transform Janus into his Messiah form which makes him strong enough to destroy Serphinese.  Charon's hope and desire to have the world saved gave his prayers the power to make it happen.  He succeeds in his mission without even fighting.

The Charon Zeru that travels back in time is from the extremely distant future during the time of Neo-Continuity.  Neo-Continuity is a divine Kingdom come to earth.  The Eternals that live there never age, get sick, and can only be killed from an attack.  Since there is no physical aging, it makes telling exactly how old Charon is very difficult.  He's assumed to be from the 200th year of Neo-Continuity, which would make him 207.  Though he usually acts like a child, he knows far more than any 7 year old normally would.  Before the coming of Neo-Continuity Charon lived an ordinary life as the son of Janus and Lebauer when they are older.  What happens to him during that lifetime has had a major impact on how he acts (like why he can't stand to be alone).

Charon's future is in great danger.  Since he uses shadow magic he is being hunted down by the Leukimborians along with his father, half sister and her son.  Since he's still very young, he's an easy target for them.  Janus and Lebauer are trying to protect him, but the outcome has yet to be seen.
