When it comes to sci-fi movies, Hollywood's got the best stuff. As for
everything else, especially drama series, I think Hong Kong Entertainment, specifically
the two companies ATV and TVB rules! I will upload pictures and themesongs once I
have time.

The Duke of the Mount Deer 1998 [Vietnamese title: Tan Luc Dinh Ky] This
series rocks! Take a good story line, lots of humor, add in a little tragedy here and
there, you get The Duke of the Mount Deer. The main character, Tieu Bao, started out as a
nobody. Then thanks to his extraordinary lying and kissing up ability, he pulled himself
up and became a high duke, the king's best friend, along with several other major roles,
and of course, seven beautiful wives. This series is kinda long but very intriguing. On a
scale of 1-10, 10 being the best, this series' a 9.5.

The Flying Fox of the Snowy Mountain [Vietnamese title: Tan Tuyet
Son Phi Ho] This series was kinda good at the beginning, then it got lame, then
it got really lame. The main character Ho Phi feels he has to avenge his parents' death,
but the supposed murderer is a good guy, and also the father of the girl he likes. I guess
what makes this such a bad series is its incoherence - too much emphasis on the subplots
and not enough on the main plot. The fighting is good but there's only a little bit of it,
the rest is just conversations .So overall, I'd give it a 4. |

Man's Best Friend
[Vietnamese title: Cuoc Tinh Doi Chu] This is a light series. I
think it was intended to be a comedy. Although it wasn't that funny, I totally fell
in love with it. Why? two words, Louis Koo!!!! I like him much better in this series
as a carefree guy as opposed to the other series... say DIF4 where he's all quiet and
unsociable. Jessica, Sammi, and Lee San San were all very exceptional in this series also,
or at least that's what I think. My rating for this series: 9. |
