The group that has been meeting in the Decauter area has chosen a name for its support group:  "Come As You Are".  They will host their next program Sept. 3rd at West Indpls. Library and the activity will be the ISO Instrument  Petting Zoo.  They will be planning the group's  first half of the year's activities following the program.  The group is open to new families.  Contact Andrea Baughman at 241-2275 or Debbie Stumpf (after 2p.m.) at 240-2827.

Home Education Camp is selling 2000 Edition Entertainment books and taking orders now.  Going on vacation?  There are many hotel and car rental savings.  In addition to the many restaurant and entertainment coupons,  this year the
movie coupons can be taken right to the theatre!  The Indiana edition is only $25.  Call Kathy Hutton at 889-5559.

The Greenwood Airport Open House and Science Contest will be Sunday, Oct. 3rd from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  This year's program will feature a science contest for Kdg - 12th graders.  Certificates will be given to each participant, with awards to contest winners.  In addition to all types of aircraft and an aircraft contest, there will be antique & classic  autos,  Greenwood Police and Fire Departments,  and parachute jumpers.

The Indiana Historical Society invites you (yes, the invitation was sent to us to extend to you)  to the First Annual Educator Open House on Oct. 30th from 12 - 4:30 pm.  See their new home, test drive a field trip visit, sample performances in the theater, see resource materials that will be available to borrow.  Educators are welcome to bring  their families to the free event. There will also be a free program for families from 10:30 - 12 noon called, "Timescape:  A Saturday Family Program Series, Featuring
The History of Halloween and Harvest Celebrations.  Explore the immigration of Halloween, the Hispanic Day of the Dead celebration and other harvest-time traditions.  Call 233-5659 to RSVP for one or both events by Oct. 18th.

Advance America is hosting a student seminar on character (grades 8-12) Tuesday Sept. 28th from 9-12:30p.m at the Convention Center.  Cost is $10 per student, chaperones/teachers are free.  This year's program is more interactive but will still include speeches by elected officials.  The theme 'I am ONE..' is asking each student to commit to respect authority, be responsible, and choose right relationships.
