Keyboard navigation
Using access-keys to navigate this site.
This site has been written so that it can be navigated by using access-keys, which I hope, will be of use to all readers.
The access-keys have been kept consistent across all pages, except for the Glossary which uses letter access-keys for navigating it's alphabetical list.
Navigating between pages
Numeric keys (0 to 9) are used to access different pages or sections across the site.
The numeric keys used and their assignments are as follows:
- 0: Effectively a back link, it takes you to the parent of the current page.
- 1: The pointsource home page.
- 2: The audio index.
- 3: The freeware index.
- 4: The site map.
- 5: The help index.
Navigating within a page
Alphabetic keys (A to Z) are used to access points within the current page.
The alphabetic keys and their assignments are as follows:
- A: Go to the navigation bar at the start of the page.
- B: Go to the page heading, bypassing the navigation bar.
- C: Go to the contents of the page.
- Other keys (D to Z) may be assigned to other sections within the page, but these are not constant across the site. This is due to the varying requirements of the page content.
Note: The link to the parent page (0), and the link to the navigation bar itself (A), appear physically at the end of the page; rather than at the start. This is to allow for ease of getting back out of the page once it has been read.
