I was going to explain the rust on Ol' Blue, but I'm afraid that
it would be impossible.
I did put duct tape over the
major holes in the tailgate so that the wind doesn't whistle when I go fast. But I discovered
two large holes behind the rear tires in the bottom of the car. This led me
to fear for the structural soundness of Ol' Blue (read: floorboards). An
under-car inspection, though, showed the floorboards to be fairly
sound. Basically, the worst of the under-the-car rust was where the body
panels meet the floorboards. Oh well. I kept the window cracked when I
drove, just in case!
