Wow, I forgot this site even existed. I retired around 2003. I still think netrek is the best game I've ever played, and had the most fun with, and met the coolest people (and some uncool people, who taught me life lessons :) ). I'd still like to see a new netrek game created, email me if you're interested: jthirsk@shaw.ca. Take this site with a grain of salt. If anyone knows if lion is still alive, please let me know. He went off to war after we founded LoC and it would be nice to know if he made it. |

Lords of Chaos is now a serious INL team. We have 16 players and have had several practices in the past few weeks. Since we are new, we don't expect to win a lot, but watch for us. |

Well, at 1:10 MST, I made my first Admiral, which was Admiral -Classified-. Immortal was right, I was proven wrong, and I'm glad. If someone would tell me why the code about the maximum time given to acquire a rank was not used. I made Admiral with 325DI and over 40 hours. I thought that once you went over the time given, you cannot make Admiral until you reach 2x DI. I was talking with lion about a week ago and we were talking about how frustrating it is to play with twinks on cibola all the time. So, we thought it would be cool if we started an INL team. Anyway, we have several players so far. To get on the team, there is a council that must vote you in first. The next season starts at the end of January so we have to hurry with organizing our team and starting practices. Well, I was approaching 320 DI, and I was sticking around in more long games that went nowhere very quickly. As a result, my stats dropped to 7.95, and I passed the 40 hour mark. Someone said that I had gone over the time you need for Admiral, and I looked in the source code and unfortunately confirmed it. This made me sad, since I realized I wasted 40 hours to get stuck at Rear Adm. for another 40 hours. Anyway, Immortal told me I could do it if my stats went up to 8.00. I didn't think he was right, but I'd figure I'd give it a shot anyway. |

I got an awesome new ISP and now have a decent modem connection. This means I can finally play like a clue. Watch out ;-) [I can't believe I played up til now with a ~500ms avg ping. I think that helped me to play like a Jedi.] |
