Before entering the meeting room, it is suggested that you read the following:
           1. We request that you refrain from asking questions or interrupting when someone is sharing. If you have problems with the way the meeting is run, PLEASE come to the next business meeting so we can discuss it, and, perhaps, your suggestion will be made a part of the meeting. We are a group of alcoholics from around the world. Each area has a different format. There is no reason why we cannot incorporate the format from other areas. An alternative, should you be unable to come to a business meeting, is to send email to the AAWOL mailbox.
          2. The codes to indicate nodding, sending personal messages, or to use cute graphics are kewl but can be distracting to some people. Please refrain from using them during the meeting.
          3. The format of the meetings is that of discussion meetings. One person speaks at a time. The chairperson will call on those who wish to share. In order for the chairperson to be aware that you would like to comment, please type an exclamation point, !, to indicate you are raising your hand.
          4. To indicate that you intend to continue sharing after sending a sentence or phrase, type three dots: ...
          5. When you have finished type pass, or some phrase that will let the room know that the meeting is open to further comments.
          6. Should you be late to a meeting, please let people know you have arrived by saying something simple like, "Hello, room." However, please refrain from responding to someone who enters; leave that for the chairperson.
          7. Alternatively, if you leave early, please say good-bye, or contact someone who can get a message to the chairperson via ICQ or some other private communication. This is so that the meeting can either continue or end smoothly and without hurting anyone's feelings.
