September 03, 2001
Okay. Here is everyone's instructions. Do not send an email until you
have read this entire message. If you sponsored any volume of Kaikan up
to and including volume 6 and HAVE NOT received your master you need to
contact us. If you have sponsored 7 and/or 8 you need to email us and tell
us what exactly you sponsored, what exactly you paid for, where exactly
you live, and who (exactly) you are. Before you do any of this you need
to check your email because I already emailed a handful of people. Unless
you are explicitly instructed to email us in the above paragraph, or I
have emailed you, do not email us until October. (Or until I say it's okay.)
June 16, 2001
As far as i know, everyone should have their
5 and/or 6 masters. (or they are in transit) Listen everyone. We had a
lot of stuff happen lately. We are not going to screw you out of your tapes
(at least not on purpose.) I'm pretty sure we've sent out everything we
owe to everyone up to vol 6. If not please email. Vol 7 is not done. Do
not email asking about it. When we finish it do NOT email asking where
your tapes are. We send all the tapes out at the same time. There will
typically be a two week to one month delay after something is done before
we mail it out. Five and Six took longer because there were two volumes
and because of.... well I'm not going to say. Doug and I are both sick
of the "Where the hell are my tapes?" emails filling up the inbox. So please.
Also Vol 7 is fully sponsored. Vol 8, which isn't even translated yet is
full. So we are not taking sponsors right now. We greatly appreciate all
of your support for our recent project. Sorry for yelling.
April 10, 2001
Something has happened. (i still don't know what.)
Due to unforseen circumstances beyond our control (sorry i'm just dictating
what doug says) anyone we owe anything to up to and including vol 6 (yes
5 and 6 are done) please email with what we owe you and a mailing address.
March 16, 2001
Are we dead? Sometimes I wish we were. It's time for the amazing update,
I know all of you have been waiting patiently for this. Jay tells me he's
done timing 5. So when he get's the preliminary edit done I can finish
it up. Then 5+6 will be ready to roll. You can place your bets now as to
when it's out. Doug.
November 12, 2000
Hmmm... October? I guess there was no October.
Changed the pic, that's about it. Have translations for five. I have no
idea when it will get done. We should be able to get some stuff done once
school lets out; the 2nd week I believe.
September 27, 2000
Okay, Kaikan vol. 4 is done and we have been busy running off masters
and what not. Saber Anime should have copies to distribute by next week.
As for Kaikan 5 and 6... Well Kaikan 6 is all but finished, Kaikan 5 however
is well... not... quite... even... begun being translated that is.... We
have decided to wait on 5 and do them chronologically, so. Once again thanks
to everyone helping out on this project.
September 03, 2000
Important message for Kaikan volume 4 sponsors: We are missing
one song from vol 4, episode 16. It is by some random group. If you do
not care about this song being translated then email us now and
we will run off your master.
As for why things are not getting ran off quickly: let's see...
Doug is not home 4 days of the week. No no, not just not home, i mean Not
Home. He gets up early and goes to class, then goes strait to work, then
gets home sometime after midnight. Two of the remaining days he's only
mostly busy and Friday is only slightly busy. So when does he study? (beats
me) So when does he time and run masters? So no complaining okay, we're
trying here.
September 02, 2000
Do these long spans of time between updates bother anyone? Well anyway
I just finished up vol.4 today but it may be a few weeks till everyone
gets their tapes because since school has started we are left with very
little free time. Doug says he's going to run some stuff Monday and I'm
slowly printing out the covers, and i mean slow. (Anyone want to shell
out a few hundred to buy me a faster printer? Ah, didn't think so. Oh well.)
August 09, 2000
Thanks to everyone who got up early enough to watch Kaikan Phrase at
Otakon this past weekend. We would like to know from anyone who caught
the Vol.3 showing Sunday morning just how was it? We were a little surprised
that they were planning on showing it, especially since we
only gave them vol. 1 and 2!!! Oi Oi, what can you do.. Anyway
we're excepting sponsors for 5 and 6. (see
projects
page.) And 6 may be done before 5. If you would in fact like to see volume
5 first you will need to give Ken a call and tell him to hurry up and translate
it!
July 26, 2000
We have all the sponsors needed for vol.4, thanks everyone. (i was
thinking of putting arigato gozaimasu and spelling it wrong, but
that would just be too trendy.) Vol.5 isn't translated yet so it's a bit
early to accept sponsors. But if you don't mind waiting...
July 11, 2000
Oh well. I guess it's past time for an update. So by the way Kaikan
vol. 3's been done for a while. Well Saber Anime has it so... Let's see
news, well it looks like Kaikan Phrase volumes one and two are going to
be shown at Otakon this August. Cool 'eh? Can't think of anything else...
June 16, 2000
Things have gone back to there usual place. "What, Matt timing?!" Anyway
we are hard at work subbing and stuff. Look, a Kaikan
Phrase Webring. We have all the sponsors for Kaikan vol.3, thank you
much everyone. If anyone wants to sponsor Kaikan vol.4, now would be the
time. Email Tran
if interested. "You ARE interested. Email Now!" And for all the people
who ask, "Why are you doing Kaikan from vhs and not
LD or DVD?" Answer: Kaikan Phrase is only being released on vhs.
No DVD or LD's are going to be released ever. So obviously that leaves
us with two choices. 1) taped off tv. We have some off tv on a svhs tape.
It's... fine to watch, but to use as a master... 2) Tran is spending the
$50 a tape and is buying them from Japan. The only problem is the copy
protection. (which unfortunately a bit better than macrovision.) But we
got a nice box which knocks out 99.99% of it. (i can't say 100%, calculus
has brainwashed me.) So how's the quality you ask. Actually it's hard to
tell a difference.
May 31, 2000
Here is what's happening. The last of the Neoranga vol.2 masters have
been sent out. The LD player almost didn't make it, (myseriously died half
way through a master.) We managed to finish up, but we will have to get
a new player. So Saber Anime should have our master by the end of the week.
With Doug and I both working six to seven days a week things have been
quite hectic. We appreciate your patience. I start classes next week, but
it looks like we will both be off the overtime within 2-3 weeks. Doug is
still doing Kaikan, but we have some personal projects lined up too. Thanks.
May 11, 2000
Neora 9-16 is done. Also got video tapes in monday. We are now using
Fuji Pro's because the company that carries the Broadcast Golds are total
bastards and ripped us off. The Fuji's are nice, Doug says they look better
than the Broadcast's. Anyway, conserning the sponsering of Kaikan volumes
3+ you will need to contact Tran at jbdang@hotmail.com,
not the group account, (subject as sponser). She will be handleing all
the Kaikan sponserships, see projects page
for sponsering info. Also, good news... fancy cases, Oooooh!! See
page. Currently we are spending ALL of our time running off masters,
(reminder: don't finish 3 projects within one week of each other.) So we
are trying, no worrying, you will get your master. Just maybe not the same
day as everyone else.
May 07, 2000
Oi... Upudeito!!!
Thus the VCR crisis appears to have ended. Here's
what going on: Kaikan vol 1 and 2 are done. Masters are being sent to sponsors.
Assuming I can catch Doug at a waking hour (or even if i can't) I will
be taking Tuesday to finish Neora volume 2 at all costs. All NeoRanga 9-16
masters will be sent out before the end of next week.
April 29, 2000
Guess its time for an update. Good news, and
bad news on this end. Bad news is translation from this point on will be
much slower than before. Good news is I have in scripts for 9-12, which
I will be starting as soon as I finish vol 2. Which brings me to another
point. Vol 2 is timed, it will be edited when we get the 9500 back from
the shop. Also, the mail server we were using seems not to exist anymore.
I fixed the link to a new mail account that we can be reached at.
April 16, 2000
We have some bad news and some really bad news.
First the bad news is that all masters for Kaikan vol.1 will be delayed
about a week. The very bad news... today we finally say goodbye to one
of our devoted members. His health had been poor for the past few weeks
but today we finally pulled the plug. A moment of silence for our JVC 9500
SVHS deck. The only bright spot in this tradegy, cameraworld was still
running a sale. And now Jay's credit card isn't the only one with an SVHS
deck on it. Let us now bow our heads in another moment of silence for our
gratuitous credit card bills.
April 15, 2000
Kaikan Phrase vol 1 is completed. I will
be running off masters asap. Everybody should have their copy by
saturday at the latest.
Other points of interest, I have everything here
for Kaikan vol 2, I'll be subbing it as fast as possible. On another note.
I'm now accepting sponsership for volumes 3 and 4 of Kaikan. Hopefully
Ken doesn't give them all to me in one day. New donation rates for vol
3 and greater, $30 for a vhs master, and $35 for a svhs master.
On a final note, I actually rememberd to update all of the pages for once.
April 09, 2000
Well, its time for yet another Ken is a machine
update. I now have translations for Kaikan eps 4-8, and NeoRanga
11. And all of this in less than 24 hours.
April 06, 2000
We've been busy here the past couple days. NeoRanga
9-10 are done. Kaikan Phrase 1-3 are done, except for the songs. Which
brings us to our next point: we got a care package from Tran. Needless
to say, sources are now in for Kaikan vols. 3 and 4 plus a lot of songs.
March 23, 2000
The titles page is now up. I think it has everything...
We recieved translations for Neo Ranga 9-10 so
that's coming along. And I don't want anybody looking at that titles list
and going oou oou, I want copies of signed stuff; I'll say NO, so stop
emailing. One idea is so you can say "hey was that Slayers movie any good",
and we say, "it sucked it was in mono."
March 23, 2000
Okay, we are now taking sponsers for Kaikan Phrase
vols 1 and 2. They where sent to the translators at the beginning of the
week. If you would like to sponser it is $35, check the info and projects
page for details. Also click here for a bit
on the show, some nice scans.
March 20, 2000
Got sources in for Kaikan Phrase vol 1 and 2.
A special thanks to Tran again for helping us out with this. They will
be sent for translation as soon as possible.
March 18, 2000
Got translation for NeoRanga episode 13 in. Okay
episode 13 timed. Okay episode 13 edited. Also once we get the last of
this stuff done we will be out of tapes, just a warning.
March 16, 2000
New web page, oooooooooh.
This is our all new, low key web page. Minus
this page it is fast loading and no fancy stuff. Sure the other one was
prettier... Anyway please read the information page,
it holds all you need to know with regards to our new way of operating.
In summery we no longer distribute. We only offer a limited distro similar
to Team abcb's. Also note this change has been long in coming and is unrelated
to Blackdragon's rant two updates ago. Finally note that the titles page
is not up yet, it should be done within a week. Thanks, Jason.
March 12, 2000
Distribution is officially closed, for those who have recieved confirmation
emails, please send them in by the 27th. You can still get copies
of our stuff from Nelson, he has svhs masters of our finished titles. You
can find him at Saber
Anime Distribution. More details to follow as things unfold.
March 11, 2000
Well, I guess I need to say some things. First of all I
would like to thank those of you who have been with us willing to help
out, I'm glad to have seen a few nice souls out there instead of the "normal
greedy bastards" (you guys know who you are). This just isn't fun
for me anymore. I will be around to finish up timing and editing
of neo vol 2, but after that I don't know anymore. I don't know how
things are going to end up since I own 50% of the equipment, it should
be just like an extended vacation, just with a good chance that I might
not be returning. For those who need to get ahold of me for some
reason you can use this address reccas_flame@bigfoot.com
that will end up forwarding it to where ever I'm currently at.
Doug aka Blackdragon
March 04, 2000
We just got word from one of our translators. So volume 2 is moving
along. We are getting copies of Kaikan Phrase so that looks to be one of
our future projects. Something about to happen...
Febuary 15, 2000
H-Boy and I just got back from Katsucon 6, I guess there's nothing
new to constitute an update really. Oh well.
Febuary 02, 2000
Several titles where pulled due to commercial signing. There
seems to be a lot of things getting signed these days. Success. If
only there was something on US TV for us big kids. (And i don't mean tentacles.)
That's why I'm excited for Gundam W coming to cartoon network. If they
turn it into a kids show I'm gonna be pissed. But if they keep it as is
people are going to be like "Hey, this isn't like pokemon, this is really
cool. I wonder if there are other great shows like this out there." And
before you know it you'll walk into a toy store and they'll have a little
rack with "Jet Memos" for sale.Wishful thinking.
January 31, 2000
We just got a master of Haha Wo Tazunete Sanzen Ri in if anyone's
interested. (The english name would be 3000 Miles in Search of Mother.)
December 27, 1999
Status Open. Accepting requests for NeoRanga 17-24.
December 10, 1999
As for NeoRanga 17-24.... Victory ! It needs a few run through checks,
but NeoRanga vol. 3 is timed and edited. We will not be taking any requests
until the 27 due to Christmas.
December 10, 1999
Well... that would be all the translating. After an all night translation-fest
we (we... yeah, everyone had long passed out leaving me to take Kei home)
translated the rest of NeoRanga volume 3. (But Blackdragon had an excuse...
That silly thing called college. Then again, he and H-Boy timed 17-20 all
by themselves so I'd better just keep my mouth shut.) Anyway, NeoRanga
17-24 is translated but it requires large amounts of editing as well as
some timing. Kei's leaving for CA to pick up some chicks (he actually said
that.) So we're low on translators. Our promise of NeoRanga vol. 3 for
Christmas looks like it will be happening. Assuming we can get past these
things called finals... Also NeoRanga 1-8 is now version 3.1, this should
be the last version. One major change, a new font.
05, December 1999
It's time for an update. H-boy and I got together yesterday. Neoranga
17-20 are ready to roll. We will be getting together with Kei again wednesday,
so up to 22 should be done by next weekend. Look for volume 3 to be completed
by christmas. Just don't ask about vol 2. We had an outside source translating
for us, and I'm hoping he better be dead, cause I haven't heard anything
about progress in a long long time. A note on the not so good side I wonder
how many people really understand the concept of what fansubs are. I'm
not going to get into the morality of those people who trade (and copy
for that fact) released titles. I'll just put it this way. Don't bother
requesting titles from us that are not on the available title list. At
best we'll get to fight over who gets to flame you, at worst, you don't
want to know. - Blackdragon
December 03, 1999
Episodes 19 and 20 are translated and they should be finished being
timed this weekend. Kei promised to help translate 21-24 before he goes
to CA for winter break so vol. 3 should be done before christmas. Also
we got some more titles in and replaced some lower quality tapes. And we're
looking for a "good" and "not expensive" LD player. Ours is in its last
days. If any one know a place that sells LD players (not a CD/LD/DVD combo...)
November 27, 1999
Okay, we've got Kei to translate the ending song for us so all Neoranga
1-8 requests from this point on will be version 2.0.
November 26, 1999
Wish you all a happy thanksgiving. We got together with Kei on monday
and translated episodes 17 and 18 of Neoranga. Blackdragon says he has
17 timed so progress is occurring even over the holiday. And I'd just like
to say that Ushio's friends are a bunch of perverts. Also some new stuff
arriving soon.
November 19, 1999
The Cost per tape has changed, please check the rules page.
November 17, 1999
We are currently looking in to several other possible titles to sub.
Neo Ranga will still be our main project. For any who are interested, we
will be meeting with Kei on the 22 and 23 to hopefully finish translating
NeoRanga 17-24. With luck it will be done by mid December. (Leaving room
for finals and such.) And since one of our other traslators who is working
on NeoRanga 9-12 has been busy and Robert is still lost in limbo (which
will be okay for about a month since we still owe him some money,) it will
be highly possible that Volume 3 is finished before Volume 2. And with
any luck we can move on to Volume 4. (Season 2 starts with episode 25 I
believe.) And by then our next planned project should be out on LD....
but it's a secret.
November 12, 1999
It's that time of the week again. When all the female sorcerers......
No no, it's time for an update. Kareshi Kanojo no Jijyo has been signed
by Right Stuf, the same people that subbed Tylor, so there is hope. Our
backlog is once again nonexistant and will remain so until our next tape
order gets screwed up, not that this one is entirely straitened out yet.
Anyway we will no longer be subbing Kare-Kano, and yes we will purchase
real copies of this when it comes out.
November 05, 1999
Okay. Got tapes so that's good. All the waiting requests should be
sent out by Saturday morning. And we have a new translator. *cheer* This
is very good because Translator #1 has yet to return from vacation. And
Translator #2 has yet to... well, Kare-Kano has lot's of words I guess.
And.. wow, Blackdragon really went on with that last update.
02 November, 1999
We're back, and needless to say we've had one of those weeks. Unfortunately
requests will have to be delayed several days. There have been quite a
few problems with our tape supplier. They are a bunch of dirty dirty
whores. They sent us the wrong tapes at 4 dollars extra per tape, then
when they send the new right ones, they come C.O.D which helps us out alot
since they won't credit my charge card for the other ones, we get
company credit instead. The tapes will be back thursday when i get a money
order for them. On the good side, we've had one thing that might
turn out good, we are meeting with a possible translator, more info to
follow. - Blackdragon
October 20, 1999
Okay, we've had several questions concerning this so i though i'd explain.
The first season of Neo Ranga consists of 24 episodes. Each episode is
15 min long. On one tape is 8 episodes equaling 2 hours. Ne? Also H-Boy
gave us his email so for all you good looking women out there, send pics
to H-Boy@prodigy.net so he can check you out at Katsucon 6 in DC this Febuary.
October 18, 1999
Okay, NeoRanga 1-8 is available for request.
October 04, 1999
This past weekend we finally got to finish Neoranga 1-8. All that's
left is final checking. Still a few spots that the translator just sort
of forgot to translate a line or two!! That should be ironed out by the
end of the week and be available for request by next week.
September 30, 1999
Well, we're back from a short hiatus. Thanks to H-Boy for handeling
our mass of requests during the break. Unfortunately midterms are coming
up so you may be experiencing a minor slow down in us getting back to you.
September 10, 1999
We finished timing Neoranga 1-8. It still needs some editing before
we can begin distribution. We heard that just maybe we'll start getting
those Kareshi scripts in soon.
September 03, 1999
Well, school has started fun fun. Neo Ranga 1-7 is timed, 1-5 are perfect
(well perfect for us anyway). Look for Vol.1 (1-8) sometime soon. 9-24
have been sent to a translator so hopefully that'll be done soon.
August 23, 1999
For some reason we felt especially motivated this past week and we've
actually accomplished something. We have Neo Ranga episodes 1-2 and 5-6
completed. On a side note our number one translator does not like shoujo
anime, Kareshi in particular. (We had to bribe him with some beer money)
Note
to self: send him something else to translate before he goes insane.
August 16, 1999
We feel bad about it, but we sent Kare-Kano 1-12
to the translator. Any of you who've seen Kareshi Kanojo no Jijyo know
what I'm talking about. The show makes me dizzy. Not nearly as dizzy as
Sana-chan makes me though.
August 09, 1999
Nothing new really. Our LD's should be here in a few days.
August 02, 1999
Newly timed is Neoranga episodes 5 and 6. So what's new: well I just
got Slayers 27-43 but I guess that doesn't really effect anyone. Both Eva
movies have been signed and so has Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz, but Gundam
Wing TV is still okay, but Anime Village will sign it some time within
the year guaranteed, assuming they don't go bankrupt.
July 21, 1999
We just got the translations for Neoranga 1-4. Please sponser, we are
financially challenged.
July 18, 1999
We now have two translators. Check the projects page for info on sponsering.
July 14, 1999
Okay, if we're lucky the pike will add our page soon. Either way we
should have multiple translators by the end of the week.
July 10, 1999
The page is mostly finished. We are just waiting to confirm a few things.
The Submit Request form is working and we just ordered lots of lazerdisks.
July 04, 1999
Today is the day I'd say we officially open. We have lots of LD, zero
money, and maybe even a translator... But we will be accepting sponsers
for Neo Ranga if anyone's interested. (More on this later.) Not all of
the pages are complete yet. We just got back from Otakon, it was big. I've
decided to keep my negative thoughts to myself.
