Axe Music History

Axé Music (AH-SH-EH) means "Good Luck", a strong will, faith.
It is today, one of the Brazilian hottest rhythm, being the
non-stop dancing music on the carnivals throughout the country.
During the 80's, Olodum started a revolutionary rhythm. The "Samba-reggae" by
Neguinho da Beija Flor.
A few years later,a group called "Ara Ketu "(meaning "people from Ketu"),mixed those
 rythms with electronic instruments.
Also lambada music helped the Axe Music, where Bahian band started to show their talents
to Brazil, mixing the rythms of Lambada (carimbo, etc) to Bahian rythms, and, the result was,
sometimes,a music very close to Axe Music. That was the begining of the Axe Music, which exploded
in Bahia, and, pretty soon, with a little help of "Daniela Mercury ",in the early 90's,the rythm exploded
in Brazil.
