CREATED: JULY 2004

We do it every Year: After all the anticipation, it was time to make the trek to the best place to canoe in the United States. Huzzah Valley... to bad it was full this year and we had to go to Bass Resort.

Annual Canoe Trip - Steelville, MO

After setting up the campsite, we crack open our beers and get something to eat. Justin immediately yells the traditional Huzzah cry, "Get 'er Done!!!"!

With our stomachs full, Justin and Dick break-in the party with Justin's piñata.

Jeremy had to come help them out.

I just wanted to play football, instead, I get hit in the head and flicked off by Justin.

A It rained for 12 straight hours before we showed-up. Most of the campsites were half under water and were marked off by the trashbag hanging from a string.

We were having so much fun, we had to get more to eat. We can't live on beer alone.

Jeremy is filling up his torches. No one told him he could unscrew the top.

Kenzia just laughs.

While the rest of us played, the cook was hard at work... cooking us some hamburgers.

Jeremy must have spilled a little bit of the oil. The whole top of the torch is on fire!

Jeremy and Kenzia brought chicken to eat for dinner, they didn't want beef... the weirdo's!

That is why I want a truck, you just through a tarp over a PVC pipe frame and you're camping!

Yeah, the corn was good, even though it was a little burned. Jeremy tries to eat all the delicious kernels without eating the burnt part.

After a wonderful dinner, the group sits down to relax and just enjoy the time away from the "hustle & bustle".

Of course, when that happens... minds wonder. Here, Justin and Dick, are using the lighter to fill the can with gas. "Watch this" is said as famous last words.

Now that everyone had a few beers in them, it was time for dessert! Dick and Justin attempt to break into the pinata.

WHHHHHIFFFFFFF!!!!!.

Jeremy keels-over as he completely misses the pinata and tries not to fall over from being so dizzy.

Barely letting Jeremy get a chance to stand back, Kenzia takes a swing at him... I mean the pinata.

She gets funny and tries to use the stick to find him... sorry, I mean the pinata.

Justin takes his first swing and hits his head. "Aren't you supposed to use the stick?"

After that Justin just goes bull-wild. Head down, balls-out, swinging like a madman.

Eww, Eww, Eww! Who ate corn?

"Whheefffttt! Ok, everyone out of the pool! The fun police are here!" [Wow, I think I just wrote the dorkiest thing ever.] Justin turned on his Blue Light to liven up the group... like we needed that.

The next morning was an early one. Jeremy and Jeremy use the axe to stoke the fire back-up. They both just try to wake-up at the same time.

With the blowup Big Bird around his waist, Justin's ready to go.

With the beads on, Justin and Dick are Now ready to go.

We didn't get get very far before we decided to stop. We had to wait in line so long, it was already lunch time. We had fun on the sand beaches (Scott with the football, Wade eating, and Jeremy in the background.)

Who's the bald white guy? Oh, that's Kevin.

Becky, Stephen, and Holly enjoying the sun. We had the best weather possible.

Jeremy and Kenzia way out in front.

Conan (Kohnen), Scott, and Kevin check out the crowd for other crazy groups like ours. The river was really crowded, just the way we wanted it.

Jeremy and Kenzia came back to hangout with us.

Swing'n his beads in the air and yelling "Git 'er done!" Jeremy's about to get slapped by Holly. He wanted her to earn the beads.

Wade can't believe the craziness that he's experiencing!

The monkey (Scott) climbs a tree that leans over the river.

People passing by were asking,"What's he doing?"

He'll get to the top eventually... or he'll fall.

Uhh-Oh, he almost fell!

A kid allergic to the sun (the huge umbrella) stopped by to watch Scott fall too. Jeremy and Kevin give him some beads for being so brave... it was a sunny day.

Saying "Look out below!" as Scott dangles from a branch as he prepares to fall.

The crowds were backing up to watch the spectacle.

Success! At least he fell in the water and came back up. Jeremy sings on "If you're happy and you know it... !" If you went on the trip, you KNOW the chant.

At a different beach, the group enjoys more of the fun in the sun.

One girl in a different group had a little to much to drink. We all gave her a hard time as she is hanging over the edge of the raft.

"Look out for the puke!", Jeremy directs traffic away from the polluted water, "Move along, nothing to see here."

She was like the Energizer Bunny... poor girl... she just kept going and going and going and going.

We made it back to camp, after a hard days work of floating and drinking on the river, it was time to relax and get something to eat! Wade grabs his brats while, Kohnen grabs a chair.

With weather and a campsite like this, it was a great day for camping.

Stephen, Becky, and Jeremy getting food ready.

With our stomachs full, it was time to relax some more. It was the purpose of the weekend.

I didn't have any pictures of me being there. So I took a nice picture of Jeremy's sunburn.

After a nice long sleep, Jeremy finally woke-up to get something to eat. What a great picture!

Dick looks tired. He said he wanted to drink that whole thing of water. Better get-to-drink'n, its going to be time for bed soon. Maybe he was just staring at the fire, we had tons and tons of wood to burn.

It was a good fire. We actually almost burned all the wood we had.

Kohnen and Dick drink some of Jeremy's homemade wine.

Stephen and Becky cook-up dessert... Some-ores.

Scott, Kevin, and Wade enjoy the fire too.

Our neighbors pouring the candle wax on the fire. They were kinda crazy. We saw them on the river quite a bit.

Poor Becky couldn't stay up to much later. I couldn't blame her, it was a long day.

Jeremy must have been thinking, he brought a rake to cleanup the tootsie-roll mess from the pinata..

Gas was cheap in Missouri! Seriously, what was the world coming to? It was only $1.73 a gallon.
