          As per the estimates of the American Cancer Society a total of 215, 990 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States in the year 2004. At the current time there are over 2 million women living in the U.S. who have been diagnosed with and treated for breast cancer. Breast cancer is the second largest cause of cancer death in American falling behind numbers only with lung cancer deaths. It is estimated that in the year 2004, a total of 40,110 women would die from breast cancer in the United States. Excluding skin cancer, breast cancer is the commonest cancer among American women (data from American Cancer Society). It is estimated that a total of 21,200women would be diagnosed with breast cancer in Canada in the year 2004 and an estimated 5,200 women would die from this disease (source: Canadian Cancer Statistics 2004 ).

          Breast cancer is a major health problem all over the world. As per the World Health Organization estimates, more than 1.2 million new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in the world in the year 2004. This demonstrates the huge health threat breast cancer is posing inside and outside United States. In order to defeat breast cancer more research is warranted. This site is established with the primary aim of giving information to breast cancer patients and their families regarding various aspects of breast cancer. This site is also aim at promoting breast cancer research. I am planning to organize a Fight breast cancer campaign on this site to promote breast cancer research and fund raising. I need the support of all of you in this humble attempt.
